| Summary | Deep in an Ainu village, aging elder Irenkatom shoulders the sacred weight of his ancestral lineage. With no heir, he pours his profound love and hope into Toyo, a charismatic mainlander boy. But Toyo grows into a reckless libertine, squandering Irenkatom's wealth and demanding the ancestral lands before vanishing. Heartbroken and isolated in a mountain hut, Irenkatom's world unravels. He becomes tormented by the unseen Koropokkuru, mischievous dwarf spirits from Ainu folklore, who mock him, demand his sacred treasures, and threaten his very sanity. As the lines between reality and myth blur, Irenkatom fights to protect his heritage for a prodigal son who may never return.
