| Summary | For decades, Kinoshige, a master of the Chinese fiddle, has upheld a cherished Lunar New Year tradition, filling his village and nearby towns with the instrument's soulful, sorrowful voice. Alongside his cousin Matsujirō, he found joy and appreciation, especially from a kind miso shop owner who understood the true heart of his music. But time flows relentlessly. The world is changing, and the ancient melodies are fading. As Matsujirō abandons the tradition, Kinoshige finds himself increasingly alone, his family urging him to concede to a modern world that deems his art foolish.
