Summary Ginjirō, a sharp-witted commercial school graduate, abandons the mundane for art, becoming a live-in disciple to the famed Gidayū Master, Toyotake Shōdayū. Dedicated to his training and household duties, Ginjirō secretly harbors a forbidden hope for the Master's spirited daughter, Miyoko-san.

When Miyoko-san is shamed for her father being a mere "entertainer," Ginjirō champions a radical idea, inadvertently igniting the Master's "modernization" and propelling him to unprecedented fame. Yet, as the Master’s star rises, Ginjirō’s own path becomes fraught. He must navigate the Master's volatile temperament, the watchful eye of Okkasan, and the cunning rivalry of ambitious junior disciples. In a world where art, loyalty, and ambition collide, can Ginjirō secure his artistic legacy and win the heart of the woman he loves, or will the treacherous currents of the household sweep his dreams away?
