Summary	In the sweltering summer of post-war Tokyo, a jaded university student, disdainful of human connection and 'love,' freeloads in his eccentric friend Dai-chan's boarding house. Each night, a young woman's haunting military songs drift through the dark alley below. After a cruel prank, the student inadvertently ignites a bizarre game: Dai-chan falls into a fervent, delusional 'love' for the unseen voice, which the protagonist eagerly fuels with elaborate lies. But as he meticulously constructs Dai-chan's fantasy, a startling encounter with the singer herself forces him to confront the unexpected wounds he's inflicted and the unsettling emptiness within his own heart. Can a man who scorns love truly escape its grasp, or will his elaborate deceptions unravel the fragile tapestry of his own existence?
